SAMUEL JAYE TANNER
Dr. Samuel Jaye Tanner is a professor of English Education at the University of Iowa. His other work includes three memoirs Shot Across the River Styx, Determined Weeds, and Playing with Sharp Objects as well as the monograph Whiteness, Pedagogy and Youth in America. Whiteness, Pedagogy and Youth in America was the recipient of the 2020 David H. Russell Award for Distinguished Research in the Teaching of English presented by the National Council of Teachers of English. Sam lives in Iowa City with his wife and two children.
